After struggling to find entertaining things to do with my daughter and scouring the internet for ideas, I thought it would be a good idea to share my findings with other single parents in Knoxville and surrounding areas.

First Child in the Woods
is a unique educational series that introduces young children to the wonders of nature and earth science. Programs provide early learning experiences, parent-child interaction and enhance children's intuitive connections with the natural world. Classes are filled with age appropriate animal visits, hikes, activities, crafts and games.

The Smoky Mountain Field School
The Field School offers high-quality workshops, hikes, and adventures to more than 700 people each year who want to enhance their enjoyment, appreciation, and understanding of the Smokies and the great outdoors. The strength of these programs comes from the enthusiasm, knowledge, dedication, experience, and love of Great Smoky Mountains National Park that instructors bring to each and every course.
